My Favorite Reward Programs

Even though Dave Ramsey says to plan for Christmas by setting aside money, I've decided that we're going to pay for Christmas through the various reward programs I'm a member of. This means more $$$$ for our debt-snowball!

I've been couponing and participating in rewards programs for 7-ish years. In that time, I've found the ones that are worth my time!

This reward program has a little bit of everything. You can do surveys, watch videos, purchase items, complete activities, do internet searches. This program has the most potential to earn LOTS of points in a short time due to the bonuses. I'm going to heavily rely on this program to pay for Christmas. I almost exclusively redeem my rewards for Amazon gift cards and PayPal.

When you purchase Kellogg's products upload your receipt and receive points per item; upload participating grocery store loyalty cards, and enter bonus codes. Redeem for various rewards. I've redeemed for $ off coupons, Lowe's gift certificates, Amazon gift cards, and Redbox codes.
Load these codes for quick points!
BEOURVALENTINE50 to score 50 points
FEBRUARYPOINTS4U to score 100 points
YOURKFRVALENTINE to score 50 points

Even without a little one in diapers, there are ways to earn points for great rewards, through the Huggies Rewards program. You can upload receipts to get the most points but there are also articles, surveys, and videos you can watch to earn points. I've redeemed Huggies points for gift cards, free product coupons, and Melissa and Doug toys.

Here's another diaper reward program, but there are other ways to earn points without buying diapers. I've actually never purchased pampers, I only get my points through other point avenues.

This reward program recently changed and not for the better in my opinion, however, it is still worth it to me to have a bag full of caps or 12-pack flaps. Then when they do release a reward I can quickly enter the required codes! Some of the recent rewards have been a FREE large drink and popcorn at AMC for 10 codes and $5 amazon gift card for 10 codes. Around Christmas they have a sweepstakes with TONS of winners. I won 4 different awards over the prize period. Much better than other sweepstakes!

I love the DIsney reward program! Every time you purchase a Disney DVD, Blu-ray, digital movie, or go see a Disney movie at the movie theater you earn points. They have a lot of different rewards available from electronics to toys, DVDs, occasional gift cards, and more! I've redeemed my points for Marvel items, Disney character plushes, and one of my favorites is movie tickets or concession cash!

MyPoints has a lot of different ways to earn points. Similar to Swagbucks, you can do surveys, watch videos, online shop through their site, and more to earn points. I redeem my points for Amazon gift cards. This is the other reward site that I rely on to provide Christmas bucks!
One of the few survey sites that it worth your time! Every survey you attempt you'll get points. Even if you don't qualify you'll get 5 points for trying and a chance at their monthly sweepstakes. I love that I get rewarded for my time no matter what and this company does a lot of product testing surveys. I'm currently participating in a soda product test; so I get FREE soda and points for my time.
I have signed up for every survey site out there. I now only do surveys through SwagbucksMyPointsI-Say, and Valued Opinions. All the other ones the payouts were too low, or I wouldn't qualify for one reason or another after completing practically the whole survey- annoying.  Valued Opinions has several different gift card options. I primarily redeem for Amazon gift cards {Do you see a pattern? Redeeming for the same type of gift card through all these different reward sites builds up a good reserve for gifts!}

Homemade Laundry Detergent

I've been making our own laundry detergent for over a year now. It works wonderfully, I know exactly what's in it, smells great, and lasts forever! Here's what you need to make your own: 55 oz. Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda  (you can find this in the laundry detergent aisle usually on the highest or lowest shelf) 76 oz. 20 Mule Team Borax  (you can find this in the laundry detergent aisle usually on the highest or lowest shelf) 4 lb. Baking Soda 26 oz. Downy Unstoppables or other scent booster 3-4 bars Fels-Naptha or Ivory Soap  (I used to use Fels-Naptha but at $1.69 per bar it's more economical to use Ivory soap and it works just as well) Combine washing soda, baking soda, borax, and scent booster. I use an extra 5 gallon bucket to mix. Grate soap and add to powder mixture. Using a food processor makes this much faster!  When finished you should have 2 gallons worth of laundry detergent. Each load only needs 1 t...

Birthday Budgets

This past month we've been celebrating Tafton's 9th Birthday. He loves to read and I love to see him reading. He'll use phrases that sound so odd coming out of a 9 years old mouth, But I really enjoy hearing them. He is so smart! Because he's the oldest he can be somewhat of a police officer trying to keep the younger kids in line - it's important to him that everyone follow the rules and he can get so disappointed in himself when he thinks he's fallen short. I'm humbled that I've been chosen to be his mother, to guide, teach, and prepare him for this life. One area I want to prepare my kids in is finances. I wish for them to make smarter choices with their money than we have! One thing I want them to understand is that money is finite. If you spend a dollar, you no longer have that dollar.  In line with this, we decided to let our kids manage a birthday budget once they turn 8. We give them a dollar amount and with that they can decide to have ...

Gazelle Intense

I've been a fan of Dave Ramsey for several years. But even though we've been fans; listening to his podcast, reading his books; we haven't gone full gazelle intense yet. Well guess what?! 2017 is the year!!! We're going gazelle intense!!!! I'm crazy excited!!! So what is gazelle intense? Basically, it's getting really focused and really angry at your debt. Angry enough that you want to kick it to the curb and get it out of your life for good.  I feel like I've been working on paying off all our debt forever!!!! and I'm sick and tired of it! What's worse is the reason  why  we haven't paid it off is because we HAVEN'T been following his plan by the  book  (literally☺). We've used our credit card instead of an emergency fund, we've signed up for more student loans when we should've cash flowed, and we didn't do the snowball, instead we paid extra in drips and drabs.  No more! and I'm super excited. I'l...
